Welcome! We are delighted to announce the release of the 2023 Boars’ View BDR Pinot Noir, hand-crafted by Winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown. Our BDR named after the Bohan Dillon Road which our vineyard is located in the Fort Ross - Seaview AVA on the West Sonoma Coast. The 2023 BDR was awarded a score of 95+ by www.jebdunnuck.com.
Farming on the West Sonoma Coast, we experience years where we have a lot of quantity, or a lot of quality, but rarely both. 2023 marked a year where the stars aligned and the Boar’s View Estate vineyard in the Fort Ross mountains produced a plentitude of dazzling Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. This is a vintage that only comes around once every so often and we couldn’t be happier to share our good fortune with you. We sincerely appreciate your continued support, as a small independently owned winery it makes all the difference.
Also included in your offer is the 2023 Boars' View Estate Pinot Noir (rated 96 JD) and the 2023 Boars' View Estate Chardonnay (rated 94 JD) both recieving steller scores. These wines were initially offered back in in March and listed again for those that did not order and available to reorder for those that placed an order in Spring.
Recently the Robb Report listed the 2017 Boars' View Estate Chardonnay as one of the 50 Best California Chardonnays of the 21st Century So Far... a testament to the ageability and deliciousness of our estate Chardonnay. We have six cases left and available for purchase by our list members.

Rated 95+ (jebdunnuck.com) The Boars' View BDR is comprised of California Heritage clones Calera, Mt Eden and Swan pinot noir entirely grown on our estate. While the Estate Pinot Noir is osur flagship and crafted to age gracefully for many years, the BDR is made to be enjoyable sooner than the Estate. 500 cases produced.
Tasting Notes: The 2023 vintage produced a striking, structured wine marked by crisp minerality and a refreshing salinity. The sauvage bramble fruit is complimented by notes of minerality and mouth-watering acidity. In the glass the wine exhibits a dark ruby hue. Aromatic notes suggest boysenberry, purple lilac, ocean air, rhubarb and rose oil. The palate is marked by a densely layered dark fruit core suggesting plum reduction, quince, river rock, lavender and pomegranate. This is one of the finest vintages we have had the pleasure of working with in many years. The Boars' View BDR is a Pinot Noir comprised of California Heritage clones Calera, Mt Eden and Swan.
Rated 96 (jebdunnuck.com) Our 2023 Boars’ View Estate Pinot Noir is the estate's flagship wine. The Boars' View vineyard is almost 11 acres in total. One acre dedicated to Chardonnay and the rest to Pinot Noir.
Tasting Notes: This vintage created a confluence of quality and quantity at the Boars’ View Estate Vineyard. This will be a vintage to remember for its abundance of dazzling complex fruit paired with architectural structure, and focused minerality. The wine possesses a dark garnet hue in the glass with a rose hued halo. Vivid aromas swell from the glass suggesting notes of cedar bough, plum skin, and mint. The sleek palate has a round mouthfeel, layered with notes of black cherry, oolong tea, and violet. The finish extends for a lengthy amount of time, providing ample opportunity to reflect on this dynamic wine from an excellent vintage. This is a vintage where the stars aligned and the result in bottle is one to be savored.

Tasting Notes: Luminescent, structured and kaleidoscopic are all apt descriptors for this stunning example of site and varietal from an exemplary vintage. A warm golden hue radiates in the glass. Layered aromatics notes suggest polished brass, flint, and lemon curd. The viscous palate is marked by precise notes of lychee, grapefruit pith, citrus oil, Asian pear, and flowering jasmine. The wine possesses a striking balance of full-bodied mouth feel coupled with an angular laser-focused acidity that pleasantly extends the floral finish. From the top of the Estate vineyard into the depths of your memory, this wine embodies the full potential of site and vintage.
